It looks like a painting of some sort, with all the modern/post-modern ideas of painting art now-a-days.
I do like the graphic rendition of the suffering endured by Christ. In this it reminds me of Gibson's "The Passion" which portrayed a very realistic look at scourging and crucifixion. It shows the great depths of God's love for us.
Would I hang this painting somewhere in the church? No. It wouldn't fit the decor of my church's artwork. It's also too radical and modern for my parishoners' tastes. But I wouldn't be opposed to having in my house as part of my own art collection.
A poor miserable sinner (sadly without a doubt) striving to be a faithful husband and father as well as faithfully preach and teach the good news of salvation in the Son of God, Jesus Christ; crucified and risen again from the dead!

I concur with Pastor Bauernfeind: Not in my church (except, perhaps my study), but quite possibly in my home.
